I had the MOST amazing weekend in Nashville with Emily! I drove down early Friday morning and was there in time for lunch at PF Changs with Emmy. We had a fun lunch-for-two thing there, and then we walked around campus and picked up mail and stuff and just basically had a fun afternoon together. Then we went and checked into the hotel and we exchanged the first half of our valentine's day presents. I got Emmy some roses (of course), a glass frame with our names engraved on it, and a massage at Andante Day Spa. I think she loved all of it! Emmy got me the most amazing package of stuff from Juicy Couture - a new cologne (I've never worn cologne before, and I *really* like it a lot) and a matching scented aftershave and deodorant. I think its the sweetest, most thoughtful gift I've ever gotten, and I just LOVE the smell of it. (Slugger may or may not be wearing some of it to remind me of Emmy when I fall asleep at night.) We also tried to go bowling Friday night, and actually managed to find a bowling alley within a reasonable driving distance, but it was kind of sketchy, and it was league night, so we couldn't bowl anyway. We ended up watching Madagascar 2 together on my laptop, which was fun, but not as good as the first one. I mostly just enjoyed having snuggly cuddly time wth my baby.
Saturday was quite the amazing valentines day with my baby. We slept in, then we went and got breakfast/lunch at Noshville, which was quite yummy. The rest of the day, we went shopping for a bit at the mall, where Emmy got me the most incredible watch from Fossil, as a pre-planned birthday present for my upcoming quarter-centennial celebration! (I am such a dork...) We ended up at the mall because we had tried to go see a movie but traffic sucked. Then we had starbucks, and an amazing, romantic dinner together at Cabana, which has officially become my favorite restaurant ever. (But only if I'm there with my baby!) The waiter was awesome, and he took this picture for us. After Cabana, we went back to the hotel and exchanged the other half of our gifts. I can very definitely say that this was the best valentines day ever!!On Sunday Emmy and I got up and had breakfast at the hotel, and then we checked out and went and saw He's Just Not That Into You at the movie theater. (Thats the movie we were gonna see before traffic was a bastard and made us late.) After that we went back to Emmy's dorm, and I got the cookies she made for me (which are amazing, btw) and we had a very sad goodbye. This has been, by far, the hardest being-away-from-emmy time EVER. I miss you so much, poohbear! I am counting down the days until I get to see you again!
Also, I am so glad that we had such an amazing first valentines day together, and I am looking forward to many, many more!
