promise rings!

Ok so I'm a big dummy and somehow I always forget to post about the really awesome stuff that happens. Emmy and I got each other promise rings! They're a promise to each other that we'll be together forever. It's so nice to always have a reminder of her with me. I love our rings and I love my baby!

The inscription is "Ani l'dodi v'dodi li" which translates in english to "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine."

*phew*

Light Up Louisville is over. It turned out a lot less horrible than last year, work-wise and weather-wise. Unfortunately, it was WAY less fun than last year because I had to miss thanksgiving with my baby. I think this week at work is gonna be pretty slow, and then I get to go visit my babysweets for semi-formal next weekend!

That's all that I really have to update about... Emmy's only been gone a day and I already miss her tons and tons.

light up 2008

I'm posting from the hotel room in Louisville. The first three days of loadin have gone REALLY surprisingly well. Everything seems to be better-planned this year than last year. The weather has helped a lot too, staying warmer out and less windy than in past years. We are basically at the point where fixture-test can happen tomorrow first thing. That's pretty awesome.

More important than the event itself.... my baby came to visit last night!! I was so happy to see Emmy and cuddle with her all night, and then we had breakfast with Heather and Bryce in the morning at cracker barrel, which was awesome!! I love the life that I have with my baby, and being with our friends makes it even better. It makes me so so so happy to spend time with Emily and see her smile and cuddle her and just have fun in general.

That's about it right now... my week has consisted of LUL and Emily, and not much else!

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody... I hope you are spending it with people you love and care about.

proud panda!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to brag to everyone about how awesome Emily is!! She got the job she's been working for at the research center! (For reasons of privacy I won't give details here, but you can ask me IRL if you want to.) This job will be Emmy's ticket to any grad school she wants to go to, I just know it.

I'm so proud of you baby!!

happy anniversary poohbear!

Also, just wanted to publicly shout HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my poohbear. 5 months has gone by in a heartbeat, I feel like I've known you my entire life! I love love love love you!

another weekend with my baby!!

I went down to Nashville this past weekend to visit Emily! It was SO very much the weekend I needed. We spent almost the entire weekend snuggled up in a hotel room watching movies and cuddling. We even had late-night chinese in bed! We went to Cabana for dinner on saturday, and had breakfast at Noshville on sunday! Talk about a perfect food weekend, right? It was just nice to be able to spend time with Emily without having to wake up and shuffle stuff around and get out of the way of her suite-mates. (Not that I don't love being around her friends and such, I just enjoyed having some alone-time too....)

I had kind of a cough all weekend, which I attributed to a weird-smelling cleaning product at the hotel, but when I got back Sunday night, I felt kinda allergy-ridden, and then I woke up monday morning feel just completely useless and sick. I was still in an awesome mood from the whole weekend with my baby, though, so I stayed positive, went to walgreens, got some medicine and OJ and Ive been taking care of myself, snuggled up in bed or on the couch all day. It's technically now tuesday, and Im thinking Im gonna use another sick day and stay home today. So far Ive kept down some soup, but my nose and head are still all stuffed up, and Im still a little woozy/dizzy.

Basically, being sick sucks a whole hell of a lot, but its made a lot better by the fact that every time I close my eyes, I can picture my baby softly sleeping on my shoulder next to me all weekend.
