Just a quick post to say that my baby is the most amazing girlfriend in the world! She baked halloween cookies and sent them to my office for everyone to share! I'm just so glad to have Emily in my life, and she just keeps on finding new and amazing ways to make me smile.

Sorry! So it's been about 300 years since I updated. Emily has been asking me to update and I've just been either too busy or too tired, or I talk to her on the phone and then forget to update. Heh... anyway... here ya go.
Emily and I went to Jim's halloween party as matching Beer Garden Girl and Beer Keg. I had a blast with Emily (as I usually do!) and everybody else. The party was fun for the most part, had Abby's awesome chili, and then they turned on Chasing Aces, which was a little odd, and not really age-appropriate for the kids either. So Emily and I hung out in the kitchen with Jim and Amy and helped clean up and just talked in general. I think everyone loved how good Emily looked in her beer garden girl costume. I know I did!!
Sunday last week was, of course, sunday night dinner at Emily's house, and I was invited over again. It was nice to see Ellen, Scott, Charlie, and Nana again. Even better - we carved pumpkins after dinner!! I haven't had that much fun in a long, long time. It was definitely one of my most favorite, special memories with Emily and her family ever. In the picture my pumpkin is on the left, Emily's is in the middle, and the one Scott and Ellen did together is on the right. I like Emily's best because I think it has the most character, with the scar over the eye that she picked out on her pumpkin just for that scar!
Before all of that, I went and visited Emily in Nashville! We broke fast from passover at Noshville with Heather and Bryce, and the Lauras from Emily's apartment. That was, hands-down, the... best... break-fast ever! (Made especially wonderful because it was with my baby!) (I think I have the order of things here a little out of whack, but here goes...) The next day was PostSecret and then the Delta Gamma party. PostSecret was amazing, and a very emotional event. Frank was so eloquent, and spoke to a lot of the chords that ring in my heart. The DG party was themed as "The Hamptons" which basically meant get all preppy. So I popped my collar and Emily dressed preppy (I think she looked fantastic) and we went to this club and danced the night away! (Emily danced, I stood next to her and moved around akwardly.) Then we went drinking some more. All of that drinking, with my pre-gaming of vodka, didn't go over so well with my stomach. Apparently I'm not in college anymore... whoda thunk it? The next day we went to Cabana for dinner (BEST DINNER EVER) and then went to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Talk about a great movie! It was the perfect movie to see with my baby. It was really sweet and had a great ending, too. That sunday we saw ROBIN freakin WILLIAMS live at the Grand Ole Opry! THAT was a fun time! It was even more special seeing it with Emily because there were some jokes we shared a few knowing glances with each other about. Heh. It was such an action-packed weekend, but we still found time for cuddling and just sitting around "us" time too. I loved hanging out with Emily's friends, too. And I got to have breakfast monday morning at the Pancake Pantry before I left, which was ALSO very very yummy!
Anyhoo, it's been up and down at work lately, but everything is always made better by talking to my baby. I know school has been rough for her lately too, but I helped her study for a test and she got a super awesome solid A on it! I'm so proud of my baby for studying and working so hard at school. That doesn't mean, though, that I don't miss my Emmy terribly and can't wait for her to be home again and in my arms.

FL70 accident on I-65
sometime around
11:20 PM
I'm VERY sleepy at this point so I'm not gonna write a big long update. I just wanted to post some of the pictures I took so that everyone could see what happened. From what I've gathered, Jim was heading out of Bowling Green, KY after the Kroger show and got cut off in the rain by a small car. He cut hard right to avoid hitting them, and they cut right in front of him again so he was forced to cut hard left. The load in the truck shifted and caused Jim to lose control and skid into the soft shoulder where the truck rolled over onto its left side and the load was basically lost through the roof and the back door. It was a muddy, awful mess. Jim was cut up and banged up pretty bad, and got a nasty concussion from the whole ordeal. He's out of the hospital and planning on coming back to work pretty soon. When I got the call that this all had happened, I jumped in my truck and went Code-3 down to Horse Cave, KY (where the accident happened). I made the 3 hour drive in about 2 hours. I got there just before the second tow truck was picking up the FL70 and the flatbeds were carting off the gear. Amy met us at the service station and we planned on how to get the gear home. The FL70 is pretty much totalled, as is a bunch of the gear, but Chris made it through completely unscathed (except for some raw nerves) and Jim is recovering OK at this point. We were all obviously very worried about him when we heard what happened. I'm so drained at this point, I'm just glad that I was able to talk to Emily a bit while it was all going on because she was able to calm me down and help me stay focused through it all.
Anyway, if you want to see all the pictures I took of the damage to the truck, go here: http://tinyurl.com/4z666t.

So while tweaking the CSS crap for my blog and playing with new layouts for the label cloud, I discovered that EMILY has made it to the top #1 most tagged topic in my blog! Quite the accomplishment in such a short period of time, I must say! Congrats, baby!! :)

Just another quick mini-post to say that Rosie has gotten SO big, and has finally calmed down enough that she actually sleeps in bed with me at night, and it SO cuddly and loving. I can't believe what a perfect kitty she's turned out to be!
strange juxtapositions

There have been so many really awesomely good things, and so many very weird and troubling things lately. I'm pleased to say that all of the good things have vastly over-shadowed the negative things in my life, and I find myself still maintaining a mostly cheery disposition and outlook on life. It helps, of course, being able to talk to my wonderful poohbear multiple times daily to keep things in perspective.
Where to begin? Well, the most difficult thing that has happened at work is that Joe got fired. This came as a result of him being a huge giant fuckup who couldn't keep his shit straight long enough to work one show without completely fucking over everyone else involved. Sorry if I sound bitter, but I am fucking bitter, ok? Joe was supposed to be a new addition to the OLLS group to ease the production workload on the rest of us, and instead, he did nothing but bitch and complain about how much he was out of town, and when he was in the shop, he did everything possible to weasel out of doing actual work. When he DID get cornered into actually working for his fucking wages, he fucked shit up left and right, and then always managed to escape blame by being sick the next day, or leaving early, or coming in late after the show was already re-packed on the truck or whatever.
*deep cleansing breath*
Work has been CRAZY busy, as you know from my last update. I did manage to get some time off to go home for Rosh Hashannah with the family. This was, in itself, a strange mix of ups and downs. It was so nice to see Uncle Dave and Aunt Judi - I haven't seen either of them in about a year, probably two years for Uncle Dave. I was hoping they would bring their new puppy with them but I think he wasn't ready to make the trip yet. It was cool to see our big group of family together like that. Ilana and I hung out a bit and I went with her to the verizon store where she got her new blackberry curve (SOOO jealous... makes me hate windows mobile even more...). I've pretty much decided at this point that I don't care if work supports it or not, I'm gonna get me a blackberry with my next equipment upgrade. I'll run the desktop software myself from home on my dell if I have to. Anyway - the reason that Pittsburgh was kind of a downer was that Dad was in a really fucked up mood the whole time I was home. Mom kind of tried to excuse him for not liking family get-togethers or whatnot, but I mean, he didn't even want to stay home this morning to say goodbye, instead he went off to temple to usher for services. I mean... really? His two kids are in town for a WEEKEND and he doesn't even want to have breakfast with us? I tried to defend him to Ilana at first too, but then I gave up when he turned his giant asshole mood on me big time. Whatever. I was so glad to see Ilana and my Mom and Gramma and the rest of the gang, it was still an awesome trip.
So now here I am at 3:40am, can't really sleep because I went to bed so early and woke up again. I was just EXHAUSTED after driving back from Pittsburgh today and then working basically a full day to get everything ready for the next couple of days while I'm in and out of town working on shows in Louisville.
What I meant by the subject of this entry, about juxtapositions, is that amongst all of this stuff that keeps cropping up that is weird, or sad, or bothersome, none of it gets to me anymore the way it used to, because I've realized that my biggest life goal - that of meeting the woman I want to marry and make a family with, has already been accomplished. Emily and I are so perfect together, and just talking to her for five minutes to say goodnight puts a huge smile on my face. When I dream about her, it's about us having a family, and a home together. I know that some of you will say it's too soon to feel like this, but I'm 110% sure that Emily is my soul-mate, and we were meant to bump into each other and be together. I guess what I'm really getting at is I've finally found my real, honest-to-goodness happy place in life - and her name is Emily!
