rosie! pittsburgh! dinners! emily! oh my!

So, I guess the first big news thing is that I got my new kitty when I was in Pittsburgh with Emily. Her name is Rosie, and she's the sweetest, most playful kitty EVER. We got her from Animal Friends in Pittsburgh. Getting her home was quite the adventure and involved an aluminum pan kitty litter tray, lots of spilled food, a dog kennel, and a very unhappy Rosie!

Of course, that also alludes to the fact that Emily and I went to Pittsburgh to visit my family (and really, let's be honest, so I could show her off to everybody). It was such a blast having Emily in my house and showing her around town, and she met my whole family - Mom, Dad, Ilana, and my Gramma. We all went out for a really nice dinner at this place called 6-Penn which I enjoyed thoroughly. I liked Friday night even better though when I cooked dinner with my Mom and we had Shabbat all together.

Speaking of family dinners, Emily has had me over to her house a few times for family dinners, which have ALSO been a blast! I've pretty much fallen in love with her family. Ellen and Scott (her parents) are such cool people, and I love joking around with them. Emily's Nanna is the sweetest lady I've ever met, and I love how much she cares about Emily, and how she likes me and can see that I care about Emily too. :) I even got invited over for the BIG family dinner with some out of town family that hasn't been over in years and years, and Emily got to show me off to them. And then LAST night, not only did I get to have chinese food dinner with Emmy and her parents and Nanna, but then Emily and I walked over to the Amberly Village ice cream social and got ben and jerry's. SUCH a fun night! There was that one moment when Charlie noticed my tattoo I was sure I was dead meat, but Ellen and Scott actually said they like it, so I guess I'm still ok in their book.

kitty update! and happy august!

So, the results are streaming in by the thousands.... right now "Rosie and Alex" are tied with "Bert and Ernie" at a solid three votes apiece. Close behind are "Pooh and Eeyore" with two votes, and trailing in last place are "Luke and Leia" "Neo and Trinity" and "Click and Clack" with one vote each.

Seeing as how Rosie and Alex were the favorite to win to begin with, I'm comfortable calling them the winner. However, with recently discovered news that I would need two litterboxes for two kittens, I may end up only getting one kitten, who would be named Rosie, because of the book that Emily and I are enjoying so much. (Love, Rosie)

In other news, Emily had me over for family dinner two nights in a row this weekend!! Last night was stuffed peppers which were SO yummy... I've never had them topped with cheese and I gotta say, I'm hooked. The creme de-la creme, though, was, by far, the HOME-MADE corned beef, roasted potatoes, and apple sauce I got for dinner tonight! Aaaand, I met Emily's Nana (her gramma on her mom's side) who was SO nice! I think she liked me, she said she wants to see me again, which must be a good sign. Emily's mom and dad packed me some leftovers for dinner when I get home from Louisville tomorrow night. Yummmmm. I really mean this when I say it... except for leftovers from my mom, that was the best meal I've had in 5 years of living in the cincinnati area. It made me feel like I was home! It also meant a lot to me that Emily (and her family) wanted to include me in sunday dinner with Nana, because I know that's a special family time. I got all warm fuzzies being a part of that. :)

So now it's quite late, and I have to be up early for another week of work tomorrow. That's all I got for now. Ta!
