or just take this survey!

To make it even easier for you to help me out... take this survey to help me pick the kitty names!

help name the kitties!

I need help from you, the reader of my blog! Yes, you! If you are reading this on Blogger, (blog.sillypanda.net) leave a comment here. If you are reading on facebook as a note, you can leave a comment there, too. I need help naming my soon-to-be-new-kitties!

This is a list I've come up with so far with help from Emily, Amy, and Jim: (I havent yet decided if I'm gonna get a boy and a girl, two boys, or two girls, so the names will also imply what pairing you think I should get when you leave a comment and tell me what you think...)

- Rosie and Alex
- Bert and Ernie
- Romeo and Juliet
- Neo and Trinity
- Luke and Leia
- Lucy and Desi
- Bugs and Daffy
- Bugs and Elmer
- Click and Clack
- Salt and Peppa
- Pooh and Eeyore
- Anne and Andy (of the Raggedy variety...)

SO! Now I need YOUR help! If you're reading this right now, please just take a moment and tell me if you like any of those particularly. Or, even better, if you have a favorite one I haven't listed here, let me know!

long time no see, eh?

So, I guess it's been a while since I updated. Where to begin... hmm....

Well, I should mention, for those of you who are regular readers of my blog but don't see me in the flesh-and-bone world very often, that a certain ex of mine *cough Rachel cough* went absolutely batshit crazy for a couple months there. Wouldn't leave me alone. Everytime I thought she was done, she'd crop up again being all crazy and needy and in the way of forming a healthy, happy relationship with Emily. I guess as a result of that, Yoko is now back with Rachel's aunt in West Virginia. I was really sad to see Yoko go, because I really liked having her around. I'm doing ok without her, though, and I'm already excited about the idea of getting my own new kitties with Emily. I haven't raised a kitten since we got Mandy waaaaaaay back when, since Mom got Spock while I was in college and I missed out on a lot of his kitten-ness.

That brings you up to speed in the department of crazy. Now moving on to news from the department of awesome...

Emily is so amazing. It's so weird to think that we've only been together for about a month and a half at this point, but it feels like I've known her for SO much longer than that, and I can't imagine my life being as happy and complete as it is without her, really. I'm sure that the cynical bunch of you are saying "see, Dave is too co-dependent on others for his happiness" but ya'll can go fuck yourselves, if you don't mind my saying so, because I don't care why I'm happy... I'm just glad that my baby is part of my life, k?

Thanks.

Last night Jim and Abby had a bbq at their place. Jim actually managed to make a burger so huge I could only eat one. Granted, I also piled on two ears of corn, baked beans, and potato salad (and various other chips, salsa, dips, and beers) but still. I was impressed. Seriously, these burgers were just about as big as my head. Erich managed to eat two, but that was ALL he ate. Jim gave me some salsa and corn to take home, and I'm gonna make a yummy dinner for me and Emily tonight. Gotta figure out some kinda meat to make with the corn, I think maybe steak?

Anyway... life is just really good right now. Emily and I are looking forward to our trip to Pittsburgh in a couple weeks, and work has been steadily not-too-busy so that's good too. I guess that basically catches you up on stuff.

OH! I almost forgot... I got the Wall-E game and it is THE SHIT! I've been having such a good time with it!!

K thnx bai.

brad paisley concert

Emily and her friend Dan got tickets to the Brad Paisley concert last week at Riverbend. Her brother Charlie came with us and we were quite the foursome! We had dinner at the Silverton Cafe which was surprisingly good for a little local restaurant. I had a gyro that was actually really good. Then off to the concert! Starting sets were Jewel and Chuck Wicks (and somebody I don't remember) and then Brad's set was AMAZING. I had such a good time with my baby, and I liked that we kept looking at each other at exactly the same times.

In other Emily news, she's away in New York with her family this weekend while I'm gonna be in Louisville for the Lightyear show. Then a couple weeks back in Cincinnati and then we're going to Pittsburgh to visit my family August 8-10. (Really leaving the evening of the 7th after work.) I'm SO excited for this trip... I know the fam will just love Emily right away, and I'm really glad she'll get to meet my folks too.

Anyway, work is good. Joe is back, and it's nice to have a hand in the shop again. Hope this weekend goes smoothly... I'll probably post from Louisville while I'm there.

4th of july and ZOO!!

So on Friday, Feig got into town and we went over to Amy's place for 4th of July BBQ and fireworks, which was AWESOME. It was fun to be around all the kids for the 4th since they really got excited by all the fireworks going off, I didn't feel like such a dork for being excited about it too. Then Feig and I went back to my place, and we played Halo for a few hours with Chicklet, which was also AWESOME. Feig spent the night at my place, and then his ladyfriend Tori came down to visit him here in Cincinnati and to meet some of his friends. She seemed pretty nice. We went and saw Hancock with her and her friend Carolyn(?) I think was her name. Or maybe Caitlinn? I'm REALLY had with names. And we had kind of an exciting afternoon, but for reasons I won't publicly talk about here. Anyway, after the movie, we hung out at the Levee for a while, and watched some weird local band playin their hearts out on a tiny little stage. Then Feig and the girls went to Hobfrahaus for dinner with Dan and some VLS people, and I went home to meet Emily for dinner at my place. I made her skettis and we watched Madagascar! Such a fun night.

Then I got woken up to home-made brekkist of pancakes and turkey bacon! My baby loves me so much! She made brekkist for me while I was still asleep! So we had yummy pancakes and turkey bacon, and then we went to the ZOOOOOOOOO! omg I had SO much fun with my baby at the zoo... we saw EVERYTHING and it was such a gorgeous day out. It was PERFECT walking-around-the-zoo weather. My favorites, of course, were the monkeys, but my new favorite was the Manatee, since I had never seen one up close before. We both thought the cincinnati zoo had pandas, but turns out they only have "Red Pandas" which don't really look all that much like pandas, but still - it was a semi-panda experience. We took lots of fun pictures, and we saw PENGUINS too!! Penguins are SO much fun. I was waddling around like one too. I think they were jealous of my penguin-waddle-skillz.

Anyway, it's late... time for sleeps... another exciting work week of... NOTHING... since we have no shows going on right now. Can't wait till Joe gets back and we can make up silly projects to do around the shop to kill time.
