Emily and I went to Jim's halloween party as matching Beer Garden Girl and Beer Keg. I had a blast with Emily (as I usually do!) and everybody else. The party was fun for the most part, had Abby's awesome chili, and then they turned on Chasing Aces, which was a little odd, and not really age-appropriate for the kids either. So Emily and I hung out in the kitchen with Jim and Amy and helped clean up and just talked in general. I think everyone loved how good Emily looked in her beer garden girl costume. I know I did!!
Sunday last week was, of course, sunday night dinner at Emily's house, and I was invited over again. It was nice to see Ellen, Scott, Charlie, and Nana again. Even better - we carved pumpkins after dinner!! I haven't had that much fun in a long, long time. It was definitely one of my most favorite, special memories with Emily and her family ever. In the picture my pumpkin is on the left, Emily's is in the middle, and the one Scott and Ellen did together is on the right. I like Emily's best because I think it has the most character, with the scar over the eye that she picked out on her pumpkin just for that scar!
Before all of that, I went and visited Emily in Nashville! We broke fast from passover at Noshville with Heather and Bryce, and the Lauras from Emily's apartment. That was, hands-down, the... best... break-fast ever! (Made especially wonderful because it was with my baby!) (I think I have the order of things here a little out of whack, but here goes...) The next day was PostSecret and then the Delta Gamma party. PostSecret was amazing, and a very emotional event. Frank was so eloquent, and spoke to a lot of the chords that ring in my heart. The DG party was themed as "The Hamptons" which basically meant get all preppy. So I popped my collar and Emily dressed preppy (I think she looked fantastic) and we went to this club and danced the night away! (Emily danced, I stood next to her and moved around akwardly.) Then we went drinking some more. All of that drinking, with my pre-gaming of vodka, didn't go over so well with my stomach. Apparently I'm not in college anymore... whoda thunk it? The next day we went to Cabana for dinner (BEST DINNER EVER) and then went to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. Talk about a great movie! It was the perfect movie to see with my baby. It was really sweet and had a great ending, too. That sunday we saw ROBIN freakin WILLIAMS live at the Grand Ole Opry! THAT was a fun time! It was even more special seeing it with Emily because there were some jokes we shared a few knowing glances with each other about. Heh. It was such an action-packed weekend, but we still found time for cuddling and just sitting around "us" time too. I loved hanging out with Emily's friends, too. And I got to have breakfast monday morning at the Pancake Pantry before I left, which was ALSO very very yummy!Anyhoo, it's been up and down at work lately, but everything is always made better by talking to my baby. I know school has been rough for her lately too, but I helped her study for a test and she got a super awesome solid A on it! I'm so proud of my baby for studying and working so hard at school. That doesn't mean, though, that I don't miss my Emmy terribly and can't wait for her to be home again and in my arms.
