updatey updateness

So, my first few days as shop manager at OLLS have gone well. It's hard to be planning and in charge when I'm really only there for the morning shift for the next couple weeks. It doesn't stop me from getting things in order, and cleaning up the shop, especially since last week and this coming week are pretty slow. Tom seems unhappy wth leaving the shop manager position, and is very grumpy about the fact that Jim is taking the time to train me and get me the things I need... Tom says he never did that for him, and so he's been very bitter the past couple days. I hope that will clear up as we move past this transition-y period.

In other news, Rachel and I went through a really crappy week, she got very unhappy and broke up with me. We're back together, having talked it out a bit, but I'm still a little on edge. It's hard to just let something like that go and feel safe again. I think things will return to normal with time in this, as well.

Madness for Werther has already begun. My circuit count is pretty accurate, and I don't have a whole lot of available circuits going on, really. Plus, power is going to be at a premium for the movers because of how much power draw there is with the cybers. I'm just a little bit worried that this show is gonna go south very quickly. I'm gonna be at the workroom tomorrow afternoon planning my power and DMX layouts. Should be fun times...

great news AND the madness begins...

So, fantastic news about work!! I've officially been hired as the new shop manager at OnLocation! I'm considerd full-time right now, and will be working mornings until after the opera. Oh, yeah.... Werther, the opera...

So, the madness begins this week. I have prep stuff to do and a schedule to build this week. Follow that up with prep week next week, loadin on the 28th, and then a week of skeleton, followed by a week of tech and run. PHEW. I'll see daylight again on May 14th, the day after I turn 23. Coincidentally, also the day I begin my first full 40-hour week as a FT employee at OnLocation.

I can't wait to get my new shirts!

Also... I've been realizing lately how much I'm in love with Rachel. I love you, baby!

wow... been a while, eh?

So, it's been a long while since I updated. I guess not being at a computer on a regular basis will have that effect.

Let's see... last time I posted, I was about to go to Lexington to strike an event. That turned into a giant CF cause our truck broke in Lexington. So we got a lease rental from the company we lease the truck from, and then headed back to the shop with all the gear. Tom met me at the shop, and Rob went home, and then Tom and I re-packed everything for the gig in Louisville at the Galt House. I had a lot of fun there, it was a pretty easy gig, except for all the damn super truss, which I hate doing pins on... I would rather have bolts. Oh well. Rained a lot while we were there, so the driving was crappy, but not bad overall. Settling up the last bit of stuff I have to do at UC, including paintlab, and my capstone binder. Work should start full-time pretty soon, I hope. Basically, after the opera, I guess. I hate that Jim isn't being flexible at all with the opera, he was a real dick on the phone yesterday.

Work has been a lot of fun lately, everybody seems to be in a good mood. I got a key to the shop and an alarm code the other day, and passed my physical for my medical card so I can get temp CDL tags and drive the trucks.

Now it's saturday, passover is almost over, and I'm sick of matzah food. I want skyline chili on pasta. mmmmm. Anyhoo... gonna go downstairs and see if Rachel is done with her shower yet, and maybe get some food, cause I am hungry, fo shizzle.
